Tears for Sale

Not every Sunday you wake up at 8 AM so that you don't miss you schedule appointment with your eye specialist. I was in hurry. Put on the easily reachable t shirt from my wardrobe and rushed there.

Half hungry half sleepy I was waiting for more than an hour in the reception area. I felt cosier with “Angry birds” than the threatening Eye Magazines.

Few Days ago, lately I realized I strained my eyes with longer hours with Facebook, Dexter, 24 and what not. My Samsung Galaxy had been one other reason why my eyes where tired and no green effect here at Hyderabad.

My wait ended when a doctor called my name. I was in a critical stage of that game, I heard it when she called again. She asked me to follow her to an inspection room. She was cute, may be younger too but I dared not to ask her age, she was holding the name not known device and my eyes could be at stack.

After 15 minutes of inspection she asked me something my girlfriend too didn't ask me for years. Being a macho man I said ‘No’ boldly.

She smiled at me and said “You need it” and asked me to follow.

I put on my specs and followed her to another room. There some more optometrists were there, all girls, probably trainees. That was not my destination. We cross the hall and ended up at the Pharmacy.

She gave him the prescription and we talkaed until the pharmacy guy gave me something in a brown packet and the bill. I just saw the figures 110.  Paid the exact change to him and came out. While she said bye and vanished into the huge campus I went to my vehicle and opened the brown packet.

A small bottle of solution called “Tears Natural”. The prescription read 4 times a day.

What she asked me before at the inspection room: “Sir, Do you shed Your Tears”

I said like macho Man “No”.

She smiled at me and said “You need it, your eyes are drying up, and Tears will keep them moist”.

On my way back, all 15 Kms I was thinking did I really paid 110 Rs for 10 mls of Eye drop for my own Tears to roll out.

I read each and every letter. So that I find a spelling mistake - you eye specialist s/b your eye specialist.
